Chiropractic Medicine:
What truly differentiates chiropractic physicians from any
other healthcare professionals is the fact that chiropractors
are the only professionals who are trained to diagnose and
treat what are called spinal subluxations; a slight dislocation
or misalignment of the bones in the spine.
When a subluxation occurs, the jamming of the spinal joints
will result in a protective muscle spasm to prevent the vertebra
from going out of further misalignment. This muscle spasm will
produce pain and a decrease in range of motion. A subluxation
will cause nerve inflammation producing symptoms such as sharp
pains, numbness/tingling, and muscle weakness.
A chiropractic physician can correct the misaligned bone
and allow it to return to its proper position. This procedure
is appropriately called an adjustment, and the adjustment
enables the body to heal. The chiropractic adjustment is a
quick thrust applied to a vertebra for the purpose of correcting
its position, movement or both. Adjustments are often accompanied
by an audible release of gas that sounds like a “crack.”
Subluxations that are left untreated can lead to permanent
degenerative changes such as, arthritis, bone spur formation,
narrowing of the spinal canal, and disc degeneration. Chiropractic
physicians differ from other medical professionals in that
they do not use medications to mask symptoms, but instead
look for the cause and treat the root of the problem. By treating
the underlying causes through Chiropractic medicine and rehabilitation
they prevent relapses from occurring as well as further degeneration.
Active Release Techniques®:
Active Release Techniques® (ART®) is a treatment
method which addresses problems in the soft tissues of the
body, including the muscles, ligament, fascia, and nerves.
It allows the practitioner to break up restrictive adhesions,
reinstate normal tissue flexibility and movement, and more
restore flexibility, balance, and stability to the injured
area and to the entire kinetic chain.
An ART® session lasts for 15-20 minutes. The doctor will
place the injured structure in a shorten position and provide
a specific tension or pressure. The patient or doctor will
lengthen the tissue. While the tissue lengthens the doctor
assesses the health of the tissue. If trigger points, muscle
spasms, or scar tissue is present, the amount and direction
of tension can be modified to treat the injured structure.
One of the best things about ART® is how fast it can
get results. The majority of injuries respond very well to
ART® treatment, especially when combined with rehabilitation
exercises. Although each case is unique and there are several
factors that will determine the length of time required to
fully resolve each condition, patients report a significant
improvements in just 4-6 treatments. These results are the
main reason that many elite athletes and professional sports
teams have ART® providers on staff.

Graston Technique®
Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
The Graston Technique® Instruments resonate in the clinician's hands allowing the clinician to isolate adhesions and restrictions, and treat them very precisely. Since the metal surface of the instruments does not compress as do the fat pads of the finger, deeper restrictions can be accessed and treated.

Rocktape™:
Rocktape is a latex-free therapeutic taping technique that is applied to the body in various fashions directed across joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons. Rocktape’s objectives are to reduce pain, improve circulation, prevent re-injury, and enhance athletic performance.
A strategic Rocktape application reduces repetitive muscular strain, fatigue, and cramping. It also enhances stability which will restore normal muscular activation quicker to help avoid unwanted injury. A single Rocktape application can be worn for up to 3-5 days and during competition because it is elastic and waterproof.
